My very 1st grandchild, 3 year old Erick, was just denied entry to head-start because his mother makes $18,000/year. I was horrified that the State of Maryland is still heaping this inhumane crime upon our future generation. I am 51 years old and was never given anything but WIC by the state of Maryland when my children were young because I made $15,000/year; we suffered greatly, coupled w/ pursuing their "dead-beat" father through the Prince Georges County court's for Child Support that was never realized to its honest extent, kept me and my children pigeon-hold in poverty that was unrecognized by the State of Maryland. The mother of my 1st grandson is a very wonderful woman who has everything it takes to move up the ladder in this society; however just because she is not a "wait-on-the-porch" for a check every month Mother, her son and my grandson are both being denied an opportunity to get a great start on his education. So, now as it was, when I was raising my now grown children, my grandson's mother has to struggle w/o relief to pay the astronomical price tag(s) for childcare attached to private/public Day Care Providers which ultimately spirals her and her young family into unrecognized poverty. YES, I know your immediate question(s) are where my son is! He is right there beside her supporting her all the way; however, if his support is even half-way implied, my little Erick might as well KISS HEADSTART GOODBYE! The father of Erick who is my son, makes $5.00/hour working at a gas station in Maryland and supports his child both financially and physically, the best young dad that I know and I'm not just saying that because he is my son. PLEASE TELL THE STATE OF MARYLAND NOT TO INFLICT THE SAME SLAVERY ON MY GRANDCHILD THAT THEY IMPOSED ON ME! THE STATE OF MARYLAND IS THE BIGGEST VILLIAN IN KEEPING ITS CITIZENS IN A PERPETUAL STATE OF PROVERTY. Does Maryland do this for the federal tax dollars ("the Money") it receives and then mismanages (always to benefit the elite of this state)? Help me expose this "High Tech" Slavery that has been going on forever in the state of Maryland. IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!
